Sacred Architecture in Fez

In this course, students gain a knowledge of Muslim history, traditions and practices while experiencing the vibrant spiritual culture of Fez through its magnificent architectural treasures.  Particular emphasis will be placed on the city's role as a centre of Sufi thought.  Field trips will include visits to many culturally significant buildings and sites, including mosques, mederssas, Sufi awliyas, hammams, souqs and riads.
